Originally conceived as a 9-hole layout by architect Percy Dell, the course underwent a transformation in 1970, expanding into an 18-hole masterpiece under the guidance of architect Donald Harradine. This expansion, covering a mere 32 hectares compared to the average modern course's 50 hectares, was nothing short of remarkable.
Today, the course meanders alongside the tranquil Magliasina River, nestled amidst flat terrain and bordered by a tapestry of birch, oak, fir, and ash trees, adorned with vibrant rhododendrons, oleanders, and azaleas. As you play, you may encounter the playful antics of squirrels, graceful ducks, and the elegant presence of a heron often found lingering near the pond between the tenth and eleventh holes.

The 18-hole championship course at Golf Gerre Losone measures 6,250 meters with a par of 71. The course is embedded in a natural, unique and typical Ticino landscape and is located in a valley lined by rugged mountains at the entrance to Valle Maggia and Centovalli, and only a few drives from Lake Maggiore. The course is mostly flat and suitable for players of all levels.
